The Yankees grabbed a bunch of kids. I hope they work out.

One day I'll do an article on these drafts... I'd like to see how many of the players the Yankees draft through this international draft actually reach the big leagues.

there is a top tier comprised of well-scouted kids. there are a dozen or so who carry the expectation that they need only nurturing to succeed


and then there is a second tier with kids who are 'possibles'.

since MLB imposed rules designed to prevent a single team from dominating the international market, Cashman was forced to stop scooping up a big chunk of the top tier


and he's switched to grabbing up a single top banana

and spreading the remainder amongst the second tier
