ProfRobert here. Paul is kindly allowing me to guest curate again this week. The political races are heating up, so this week we’ll be looking at namesakes (at least surnamesakes) of U.S. Vice Presidents. In keeping with the theme, nearly all of the Yankees are as obscure as their namesakes. None of the Veeps became President, so we’re including a photo of the namesake as likely useless hint. We’re also going in reverse chronological order that the Veep served. Bonus point if you can name the ex-Veep along with the ex-Yankee.
Wednesday: What this country needed was a good five-cent cigar during this man’s eight years in office. What the Yankees needed was someone who pitched more than 12 major league innings during his 2013 career. Neither got what they wanted.
