Beware the Ides of March! So was the warning to Roman dictator Julius Caesar, but he could not avoid his fate on the 15th of March, 44 B.C.E. This week’s theme relates to that event. Thanks again to Paul for letting me have this fun.
THURSDAY: I’m out of names, so we’re on to numbers. Caesar’s assassination took place in 44 B.C.E. The number 44 of course is retired for Reggie Jackson. This player wore that number when he first came up with the Yankees, though it greatest “fame” came as a member of another team.
