What Should Santa Bring? By Owen Hetherington

I have a few things on my wish list from Santa that I hope he brings to all of us this Christmas. Above all, the number one thing I hope Yankees fans receive is the signing of DJ LeMahieu to a multi-year deal. LeMahieu has been by far the most consistent hitter on the Yankees since he arrived in 2019. Cashman himself said that LeMahieu would be the Yankees’ number one priority this offseason. I believe there is no way we won’t see DJ back in the Bronx after comments like this from Cashman. Although there have been some rumors about a $25M gap between LeMahieu and the Yankees, I think they will be able to work out a deal to bring him back in 2021.

I hope Santa gives Yankees fans the opportunity to be back at Yankee Stadium for Opening Day and the rest of the 2021 season. Yankees fans need to be back in the ballpark this upcoming season and I can’t wait to get back in the seats this summer. Nothing beats a Yankee Stadium roar (without artificial crowd noise) on a Judge home run and is something I am anxious to hear again.

Lastly, I hope Santa brings Yankees fans a World Series Championship in 2021. The drought has gone on for far too long. I am hopeful that 2021 will finally be our year.

I wish everyone from the Start Spreading the News team a Merry Christmas and good health in the New Year. May God bless all of you and your families.

From Compton to the Bronx.jpg

"A young man from Compton rises to the highest levels of baseball greatness.

Considered one of the classiest baseball players ever, this is Roy White's story, but it's also the story of a unique period in baseball history when the Yankees fell from grace and regained glory and the country dealt with societal changes in many ways."
