MLB hired an expert at the rate of $775 per hour to make an argument for minor league players remaining unpaid during Spring Training. — MLB News Network ® (@newsnetworkmlb) February 12, 2022
MLB presented a 130-page proposal, raising the minimum salary to $630,000 and the CBT to $222 million in 2026. The union's last proposal was a minimum salary of $775,000 and a $245 million CBT beginning now. So yes, spring training will be delayed. — Bob Nightengale (@BNightengale) February 12, 2022
The meeting between MLB and the MLBPA is over. The meeting lasted less than an hour. As expected, there’s no deal — Joon Lee (@joonlee) February 12, 2022
One thing to remember: the MLBPA did not strike. MLB locked them out. MLB could end the lockout in the time it takes you to eat a taco without a single additional concession from the rules they were happy to operate under last season while they continue to negotiate. — Dan Szymborski (@DSzymborski) February 4, 2022
MLB understood its proposal carried no hope to facilitate a deal in days. The intention rather was to spark talk and trigger more give-and take. MLB clearly has more room for flexibility but seeks to first see greater movement from the players. — Jon Heyman (@JonHeyman) February 12, 2022
