seems pretty clear that EJ felt that Holmes did his job successfully. he gave up nothing but WEAK contact. the fielders did not make the plays. it is unrealistic and unfair to expect that he will come in EVERY game like he did in that Dodgers game and throw basically EVERY pitch for a strike. there have been a LOT of excellent relievers and closers over the years who throw plenty of balls. that by itself does NOT define if they did or did not do their job.

the job is get the outs and do not give up the runs that lose the game. Holmes without question got the outs. ZERO runs should have been scored. Holmes did his…

E.J., one thing about this draft, is that there are questions marks about almost every single one - health, mechanics, command, something else. The coaches are worse, not better. Yes, they'll teach them a pitch, a different grip, but they don't really coach these guys well. They are OK with the SP getting shelled as long as they get their pitches in. Talk about stupid.

The problem is that the Yankees don't let their drafted pitchers pitch at all in their draft year, even though there are now between 5-7 weeks left in the minors when these guys are signed or not signed by.

Ben Shields.. Just up to AA, great control, lefty. I want to see if he'll crack…

Chapman does not have a very tradeable contract. Everything is at his discretion, not the clubs.

The deadline this year is 6pm EST on July 30.

As for the Yankees farm system, there are a ton of injuries. The list of who is healthy of their Top 30 prospects is much shorter. One thing that has come back to really hurt Cashman in terms of the Yankees fans, that this is the 3rd year that us fans can watch the affiliates. For instance, how the Yankees coach these guys, their methodology really ticks me off. If it was up to me, I'd fire all the Hitting & Pitching Coordinators, and dumping any of the coaches who really are analytical guys…

If you have the MLB subscription and have the Yankees as your favorite team, you should be able to watch their games too. Lots of Tampa games this year too.

I've been religiously following at least stat wise the Yankees affiliates since I was still married and living in the GTA, I'll say about 2007. Way too many things over the years, just from the box scores never really made sense to me, but these last 3 years being able to watch the affiliates too, I've been able to better form my opinion on what I see, and hear during the broadcasts. And since going all in on the analytical way in the minors following the 2019 season, 98% I…

From Compton to the Bronx.jpg

"A young man from Compton rises to the highest levels of baseball greatness.

Considered one of the classiest baseball players ever, this is Roy White's story, but it's also the story of a unique period in baseball history when the Yankees fell from grace and regained glory and the country dealt with societal changes in many ways."
