The one thing that Cashman has or will have done better this offseason is when they report for Spring Training, is that there will be less holes with the roster going into the season (barring injury) than in a number of years. Whether they sign Brendan Rodgers to play 2B, or trade for a 3B, that hole will be filled, and I see at least one veteran Lefty for the pen being signed.
Ben Rice, I think is the leader to be the backup catcher and first baseman. Because TJ Rumfield is still here in the organization, the loser of the Escarra/Rice battle will be the starting catcher down in SWB (AAA). Now, watch them let Jackson be the backu…
