I posted this comment on James' last greatest moments post but I don't think may saw it since the post was a few days old. These are some of my best Yankee memories not really greatest moments in the history of the team Tony Horton (ended up as a triple) and Steve Hamilton humbled Horton with his Folly Floater (the predecessor of Dave LaRoche's La-Lob) causing Horton to crawl on his hands and knees back to the dugout.

I was also at a game in 1969 when Murcer, Thurman Munson and Gene Michael hit consecutive homers against the A's. It was Munson's first ML homer. I was also in attendance when he hit # 100! What I also remember about that…

"This charming and meticulously researched book will remind you of baseball’s power to change and enrich lives far beyond the diamond."

—Jonathan Eig, New York Times best-selling author of Luckiest Man, Opening Day, and Ali: A Life

From Compton to the Bronx.jpg

"A young man from Compton rises to the highest levels of baseball greatness.

Considered one of the classiest baseball players ever, this is Roy White's story, but it's also the story of a unique period in baseball history when the Yankees fell from grace and regained glory and the country dealt with societal changes in many ways."
