I did not start out as a fan of Volpe. I thought that he was not as valuable at shortstop as Peraza would be.
I'm a great believer in defense up the middle.
watching Volpe play in 2023 convinced me that Volpe is greater than the sum of his physical tools.
I've the idea that he will succeed in MLB and that when he's made to understand that the team is better served if he emphasizes OBP over power, he's going, by late 2024, to become a viable lead-off guy.
