The Yankees are off to an amazing start. Ok, they aren't as hot as the Dodgers. Or the Rangers. Or the Giants. Or the Padres...

The Yankees have won series against the Pirates and Brewers, but lost the series to the Diamondbacks.

They are hitting home runs and scoring runs at an amazing rate. The young kids have been very fun to watch as they come through time and time again...

Is this team for real? Are they as great as they have looked so far? Or does this team have an Achilles Heel... a weakness that hasn't quite been exposed yet?

She your thoughts on the 2025 Yankees to date below...

biggest Achilles heel is the person wearing jersey #17

he demonstrated this very perfectly in our first loss of the year.

He brings Hill in to begin the 8th inning. the first batter does hit the ball hard. the next batter hits an extremely weak ball that finds a hole, ends up as a hit, and scores the runner from second. the next batter hits another very weak ball and we get an out. in many cases we would have gotten a GIDP but the runner in this case was very fast, and safe at 1b

all in all, Hill threw ONLY 4 pitches. ALL STRIKES

he takes him out of the game

D-Backs exposed this team..... good pitching will neutralize the Yankee hitters and Boone will overuse the BP like he always does. As long as Yankees play the second tier teams they will look good but eventually the pen will break down later in the season.

Yeah, they only scored 17 runs in three games. Totally neutralized the offense. How can any team hope to win if they average just under 6 runs a game?

P.S. The 2024 team won 94 games while averaging 5 runs a game for the season. I think they'll do ok if they can average nearly 6 against "good pitching," as you put it.

I still view the pitching as their Achilles. Looking at the box scores so far I generally do not see the starters going past the 5th inning and in several cases, they do not even get out of the 5th. The bullpen is on a path to burnout by July. Yes, the offense has been great but I do not see that continuing as the Yankees begin to play real ballclubs and face top pitching. I hope Cashman can make some moves and bring in some pitching help.

The same would happen if anyone but me is the manager in terms of blowing out the pen. The guy Cashman hired to replace Girardi knew he was never going to be the real manager, but knew he was going to take all the heat for all the bad decisions foistered on him.

Can feast on weak pitching and weak teams. Didn’t look so good at all against Arizona. Can’t play Milwaukee and Pittsburgh all the time. They have a whole lot to prove to me.

sorry, Paul. but experience indicate that Milwaukee was a good team last season.... which is suggestive

and also indicates that Milwaukee has outplayed the Reds and Royals.

the jury will long be in deliberation, but you've scant fact with which to impress

they're not even close to playing as well as they should.

with two losses in the inital eight games, they might have already played as poorly as ever they will this season.

the pitching has been every bit as terrible as it could be and we must expect far, far better as injured players return.

Cashman might come to the aid of the party with a deal that send LeMahieu and some prospects to San Diego in return for Machado, Cease, Kng and a nice fat slice of Machado's future salary.
