RIZZO TO IL WITH "LIKELY CONCUSSION"

Updated: Aug 3, 2023

that he suffered in May!

Ok. I said I was going to try to enjoy the rest of the season, but then a story like this breaks.

This is a story that says EVERYTHING about the state of the Yankees right now.

This is a story that is one that should make Hal Steinbrenner re-evaluate every single person who makes decisions in his organization.

Anthony Rizzo has likely been playing with a concussion since May! The Yankees let him play - for months.

This is the same team that brought back Aaron Judge even though he's still in pain.

These are the same decision makers who let Jose Trevino play with a wrist that needed surgery - again for months.

The Yankees are providing all of our worst fears - that they are incompetent., or, at best, they make horrible decisions. The Yankees do not know from day-to-day what is happening.

You cannot let a player with a concussion workout, travel, and play for months. Why wasn't this evaluated again and again?

The Yankees have access to the best medical professionals in the world. And they let this go on... for months?

Who will take responsibility for this?

(If I were Aaron Judge, I would tell the Yankees that I do not trust (in any way) their decision-making process. I'd ask to be shut down. I'd then go to my own doctors and have them tell me the path I should take.)

Horrible. Just horrible. I cannot even begin to believe any of this.

Didn't we just go through this with Clint Frazier? If I recall in the spring of 2020 (Prior to Covid) Judge rib cage injury was not diagnosed over the winter causing him to be out until July (they got away with it because of the shortened Covid season) , Paxton had his back surgery in February instead of right after the 2019 season, and Sevy showed up to camp with an arm injury never diagnosed until he showed up in Tampa. Either the medical staff isn't doing there job (highly unlikely) or the powers that be are not listening to their medical opinions. Either way, its a complete S%&t show.

The guy gets hurt on May 28. Hits 150 over the next 2 months, bats third, plays most games, and now they figure out he has concussion issues? I have seen lemon aide stands run more efficiently. George must be rolling in his grave.

Players Association should step in here and hold Yankees accountable for how they handled Rizzo fiasco! The board of Directors should meet and fire Cashman today. Oh wait there isn't a board.... just Hal and his buddy/GM Ownership and Management get the all-time pass! Memo from Hal .... give the boys in PR a bonus this year!
