Here's this week's question:

Assuming you have the resources to sign or trade for only one pitcher for the 2024 Yankees, who do you sign or acquire via trade?

I'd go with a free agent and I believe Blake Snell would be the best available at this point. I don't like the idea of giving up valuable prospects for a starter, not after liquidating so much depth for Soto and Verdugo.

According to Ken Rosenthal, the Guardians are interested in trading Bieber, but they're having trouble lining up with teams who are willing to give up assets for him. Though Baseball Trade Values lists Bieber at a surprisingly low $5.6 MTV, the Guardians will want double or triple that it seems.

Snell, because of is experience and proven success pitching in the American League East and in big games for an AL East team. He has had great success pitching against VERY GOOD Boston Red Sox teams at Fenway Park (when the Red Sox were a "top of the division" team before they sank to the bottom of the division in recent years), so that is a HUGE plus for me.

Montgomery.

Should perform well as a solid #2/3. No health issues (yet?). Will cost only a pile of Hal’s money. No qualifying offer. That separates him from Snell. So does having a higher floor and being a known quantity in the Bronx.

"A young man from Compton rises to the highest levels of baseball greatness.

Considered one of the classiest baseball players ever, this is Roy White's story, but it's also the story of a unique period in baseball history when the Yankees fell from grace and regained glory and the country dealt with societal changes in many ways."
