Readers' Thread: Just One More

December 15, 2024

***

It is my sincere hope that the Yankees have a few more moves up their sleeves.

But, for the sake of today's Readers' Thread, let's assume that the Yankees can make only one more move this winter. Do you get another starting pitcher, one more bullpen arm, or a hitter?

If the Yankees can make just one more move, and you were the GM, what would that move be?

They are an incomplete team. But they Have a rotation and back end of bullpen. They have in house options to fil out an infield. From first to third, Rice, Jazz, Volpe and Cabrera.

But they absolutely must add an outfield bat.

So, if it’s one move and one move only, add Anthony Santander for left field and to hit behind Judge.

very reasonable. boy oh boy lets hope they make more than one more move. they have made a good start, maybe a little more than a start. the time for good starts left unfinished is very much past

If the Yankees could make one more move and that's it - I'd build a super bullpen and just go out and sign Tanner Scott. He's a terrific fit for this team. Doing that means this coming season is about run suppression and I'd be fine with that - given that no one player will come close to replacing Juan Soto.

The Yankees infield looks woefully unproductive right now and the Yankees also need an outfielder as well, pretty badly. Signing Christian Walker would help a lot and I'd prefer that the Yankees sign him over Alex Bregman or Cody Bellinger. However, signing Walker would signal the Yankees are out on making a run at Vlad Guererro Jr next season,…

The advantage of Arenado over Bregman is we only have to have him for three years: however he feels like another Rizzo signing (older player on the downside). I would push hard for Bellinger because of the left handed bat and position versatility.

The Yankees need another bat so that would be my focus.
