Are the Yankees still contenders for the pennant if Gerrit Cole misses significant time in 2025?

They can be a wild card, maybe even win in a weak AL East. Then anything can happen in the playoffs. But they look like a team at least 10 games behind the Dodgers.

It might seem hard to believe, but they are. Let's not forget they added an ace in the off season. They will hold thier own in a weak league.

With their lineup (or lack thereof), they were a borderline playoff team before the Cole and Stanton news. Now they’re dead in the water. Third place in the AL East and that’s if nothing else goes wrong and everyone over performs. Team and organization are a joke.

I'm afraid Cole is on his down side of his career. More will injuries occur as he gets older. Who knows how effective he'll be after he returns from this injury.
