A quick hit and recap tonight! Doing something a little bit different with a lot of content tomorrow!
Winning Pitcher: Michael King (3-4, 3.07 ERA)
Losing Pitcher: Kendall Graveman (3-5, 3.50 ERA) Save: Clay Holmes (15)
Home Runs (Houston): Kyle Tucker (19)
Home Runs (New York): Giancarlo Stanton (16), Billy McKinney (6)
Quick Recap:
The Yankees did tonight what they did yesterday: hit home runs, as the offense has started to look alive for the first time in a long time.
In the first inning, the Yankees were on the positive side of the long ball as Giancarlo Stanton connected for his 16th home run, also scoring Aaron Judge to give the Yankees a quick 2-0 lead. Following suit with a back-to-back blast was Billy McKinney.
The Astros would quickly respond in the top of the 2nd with a slew of hits to score 2 of their own. After that, each team would get through the 3rd and 4th without any damage.
Both teams would score a run in the 6th, with the Astros getting a Kyle Tucker home run and the Yankees getting an RBI single from Anthony Volpe.
Scoring would end here as each bullpen would take over to solid results.
Not much else to say. The Yankees have started to hit again, the pitching has looked good.
When the YouTube recap gets posted, I'll add it here later.
Good win.
See what happens when you just stick a young pitcher in the rotation and just leave him there? But my biggest problem is that all those guys who are at AAA as SPs are at a disadvantage. To me, they are out there with a pre ordained plan, but are missing a Pitching Coach. That's my opinion from watching them myself.
