Max Fried pitched a gem.

Ben Rice homered.

Devin Williams made it an adventure in the bottom of the 9th. He was not good.

Mark Leiter got the save.

The Yankees won!

Fried was awesome. hopefully this is something like a normal-ish game for him and not the highlight of his 8 years, or even the highlight for just this year))

Judge with 2 hits

Cabrera 2 hits- I feel like this will be overlooked. it was him getting on with 2 outs that brought Rice to the plate for the HR. he was also on base for Judges 2RBI single

Goldy 2 hits and 2 more balls hit very hard that found leather instead of grass

they do seem to be rather strangely un good in poor weather. strange since they play their home games in NY. it is not as if they are a team from AZ coming north to play in cold weather or something

I know it's early the season but when your closer was taken out with a 4 run lead and almost blew the game that's not a good sign. I don't know about Devin. Maybe the pinstripes are too heavy for him.

Williams hasn't good good, certainly hasn't inspired any confidence.

but it is very early

and he does have the next 150 games with which to try to make a good second impression

on one hand, this does seem VERY surprising. based on his career numbers, which is not a small sample size, he should NOT be a white knuckle reliever. he has been largely untouchable in his career

is he suffering PTSD from the Alonso playoff HR? or hopefully something else that will soon be remedied

on the other hand, I DID ask many many times over the last couple years WHO exactly do we all believe is this wizard reliever who just comes in in the 9th chucks 9 heaters up there and goes home? we were wildly wildly spoiled by Mariano and we very much seem to believe that there should be a lot of relievers who can make i…
