QUICK HIT - Yanks Lose

September 20, 2023

***

Michael King pitched great.

Tommy Kahnle didn't.

Ian Hamilton didn't.

The Yankees managed only five hits.

The Yankees scored in the first inning last night and in the last inning tonight. If you're counting, that's 17 innings in a row without a run.

The Yankees are back to .500 on the season.

So the Yankees are going.into the offseason with 5 starters. German, Brito, & Vasquez still on the roster behind them. Then the kids- Warren, Beeter, Thorpe, Fitts, Hampton. Beck & Selvidge at AA.

Wells looks OK defensively. I believe tonight was his first multi hit game, besides his 2nd deck first career HR!

The bad? Cashman & his minions talk about needing to be younger and more athletic, too bad that for them only means on defense. Yes, Cabrera, had a hit, but not even a dang bunt attempt by Volpe, Peraza, or Florial. It just puts another tool in the belt.

From Compton to the Bronx.jpg

"A young man from Compton rises to the highest levels of baseball greatness.

Considered one of the classiest baseball players ever, this is Roy White's story, but it's also the story of a unique period in baseball history when the Yankees fell from grace and regained glory and the country dealt with societal changes in many ways."
