A tough loss on a rainy day in the Bronx. The skies were open, the winds were swirling, and the Yankees' defense was appropriately terrible. Carlos Rodon didn't pitch nearly as badly as his final line will show, but once again, the Yankee bats were largely silent until a last gasp that came up empty in the bottom of the 9th inning against the D'Backs.
Ultimately, the game probably shouldn't have been played (thanks Interleague Play!), but it will go down as a 7-1 loss anyway.
Cabrera showed again why he at least defensively a true utility player. Now, he like eveeyone else need a real hitting coach. Het rid of every analytically driven coach. Pitching too.
