Quick Hit: Yankees Lose

I have to be honest. I didn’t watch the game today. Yankees lose 9-3.

I didn't watch the game either. I knew they were going to score 3 runs or less after putting up 16 runs the night before. This offense is so inconsistent. Obviously missing Soto in the lineup didn't help.

Most of us called it even when he starters were pitching lights out, the bullpen was not really put together not just cheaply in terms of money, but also in terms of any real MLB success. Today showed it again just how true our thinking was. Add in the fact they don't do a good job in the minors of properly developing relievers, this is what you get.

And in typical fashion: 6 LOB, 2 CS, 1-6 RISP (shockingly no GIDPs, though), a couple of garbage-time runs, poor starting pitching, abominably incompetent relief pitching from Mary Pickford and Furd Calebson. It was a full-team loss. Better hope Soto's hand feels better tomorrow.

This is what you're missing - completely.

The pathetic nature of their performance illustrates... the pathetic nature of their performance.

The silly (and I'm being generous) nicknames do not further your point.

They distract from your point.

If something IS something, that's all that needs to be said. Period. Adding silly nicknames, even if they aren't about things from a bathroom, doesn't change what they did. It doesn't make your point stronger.

A pitcher may have pitched poorly, but he didn't pitch like a damsel in distress. Come on. That's just lame.

The nickname does not further your point, but it does make your point weaker.

If I have to resort to insulting someone, giving them a bad nickname, or…
