These have been two exciting, close games, each with the outcome in doubt until the final pitch. And yet, it seems strangely bloodless, not like a Red Sox-Yankees game. Maybe it's simply that both teams are looking way up at the Rays. The buzz just doesn't seem to be there, but maybe it's just me?

Replying to

it's not you turning old.

it's you having memories of an earlier time when pitching was paramount,

the games against Pedro were fascinating. the Yankees usually couldn't hit him and the suspense built as the pitches 9and frustration) added up.

the goal was to match zeroes until Martinez had to be lifted and then beat the relievers.

From Compton to the Bronx.jpg

"A young man from Compton rises to the highest levels of baseball greatness.

Considered one of the classiest baseball players ever, this is Roy White's story, but it's also the story of a unique period in baseball history when the Yankees fell from grace and regained glory and the country dealt with societal changes in many ways."
