Cary, I advocated for using Volpe as the lead-off hitter

and Dominguez in the 4th position


I like speed in the lead-off guy, especially when the guy batting second is a lefty.


only thing that was good about DJ at lead-off was that he got on base a lot


once he got to first, he was very likely to score if someone hit a home run

( unless it was an inside-the-park kind)
