Quick Hit: TRIPLES!

When was the last time 3 triples were hit at Yankees Stadium? I'd love to know. Meanwhile, the Yankees win 9-5!

I think I have been making too big a deal out of the upcoming Yankees vs Dodgers series, when honestly, I should be making an even bigger deal out of the Yankees vs Phillies series when that happens later this season in Philadelphia. That will be the TRUE matchup of the two best teams in baseball, with identical won/lost records. What a clash of the titans that will be!

if a team is scoring 5 per game and giving up less than 4

they don't really need too much more offense from the 'bottom half'

FYI: Ben Rice solo HR bailed out the SWB pen, then Marianaccio had a 2 inning save. Gomez started tonight, so, Santana is at least safe for another day from someone riding the SWB Shuttle. Or does Morris finally get his shot?

The Yankees hit too many triples.

Fun fact: You know who the all-time Yankees career triples hitter is? I would never have guessed this. Will let this percolate and will give the answer later (no peeking!).

What was most impressive about this win, is that the Yankees scored 9 runs without the benefit of a home run. Shows that the Yankees don't always have to rely on the long ball to win games or to score a lot of runs.
