Quick Hit: The NFL Is Back!

...the Yankees played today? Huh. And they lost 2-1? Well...the Giants didn't fare any better. At least the game was early.

Amazingly, with all their flaws and their warts, the Yankees still have to BEST record in the American League! Right now, on September 8! So they have just as much of a chance of making it to the World Series as any of the other American League teams....who also have plenty of flaws.

The Yankees have scored a total of 6 runs in this series 3 on Friday 2 on Saturday and one today. Is the Yankees offense have reasons for concern here. Was it the Cubs pitching or the wind blowing in that cause the offense to sputtered.

the main problem with the Yankees for the last 2 weeks is that Judge and Soto have been merely above average and not close to the 2 best hitters in MLB- which is the level they have played at for almost the whole season

I know it is crazy to hold them to that seemingly near impossible standard, but that is the expectation they have proven that they can handle


Gleyber has been very good since moving back to the leadoff spot. i am not positive, but I believe he has been on base at an average of more than once a game since moving to leadoff

Not all the Giants haven't fared any better. The Giants (San Francisco) defeated the Padres 7 - 6 in San Diego.

Torres may have turned himself into a decent leadoff hitter for 2024, too bad his defense is still a major issue, and it cost them today.
