I wouldn't exactly call that small ball. It's just baseball. Put the ball in play, make them make plays (they didn't) and capitalize (they did).
Oddly this series seems like a replay of all the rest vs Astro's. Same story, different game & different year. Nothing changes, & yeah, kinda demoralizing that the same people will be in charge as has always been.
Say goodbye my friends. This is not a team. This is a collection of parts put together by that genius Brian Cashman and managed, did I say managed?? by his hand selected robot, Aaron Boone. Pass the chewing gum. Again, no clutch hitting, poor contact in key situations, and the strikeouts are killing us. I've talked about the poor roster construction till I'm blue in the face. I predicted a 4-1 Astros series win, here on SSTN, where I was free to give my true opinion. I hoped, perhas fanasized, that the Yankees could win this puppy in seven games. They still can. The seaon is still unfolding. Two straight wins in the Bronx and we're back to even.
But make no mistake, the team with the better pitching and the team getting the key hits is tightly contested affaris is the Astros. So far they deserve to be in the driver's seat.
The Yankee lineup's strikeout or bust approach isn't cutting it. Same old story. May soon be time for Steinbrenner to hit the reset button and start building for the future.
