Quick Hit: THAT'S GAME (TWO)!

Tonight was a game with a lot of drama, but the Yankees came through with the 6-2 win and Aaron Judge FINALLY came through.

Judge is coming around because the Yankees are getting deep into the post season now. Previous post seasons when the Yankees didn't go as deep, not enough games were played for Judge to get his timing down after sitting out the "bye", and also with all the "off days" in between HOME games or in between ROAD games that are not "travel days" between the two cities. Too much down time has an effect on sluggers like Aaron Judge (and several others) because it effects their timing, but as they get deeper into the off season, he plays in enough games after the "bye" that the extra off days won't affect him as much, and as he sees more pitch…

Having not watched the YES post game show, I'll do here my version of Jack Curry's YES Backpage headline: Cole bombs, but so does Judge; Yanks take 2-0 lead in ALCS

After the TBS broadcasts, I enjoy watching THEIR post game show with Curtis Granderson, Dusty Baker, Jimmy Rollins, and Pedro Martinez, all giving their post game analysis, with Pedro Martinez revealing "who his Daddy" was for that game.

What's impressive is that they convincingly won twice despite still not putting on a good offensive performance. 2-for-17 RISP in the series, two baserunning blunders tonight. If Judge actually is untracked, and if they can drop Wells in the order and move Rizzo (1.071 OPS) up, they could steamroll Cleveland and beat either the Dodgers or Mets in the World Series.

well that was the ONLY way that i knew how to find it myself. and you are correct i do not have the patience for it. i thought perhaps you were aware of another avenue to that answer

that said, I believe what i said is very likely true- there is NO TEAM left in the playoffs who is posting an impressive batting average with RISP

but they Yankees are posting very impressive OBP numbers and giving themselves the most opportunities

they are putting the opposing pitcher under the most pressure

the Yankees are FAR FAR better ( I believe twice as good or 4x as good qualifies as far far better) than any other remaining team at NOT striking…

the simple truth is that the Yankees lead all throughout both games

and they need but win one of the next two games in Cleveland to put themselves on the doorstep.

Cleveland has not looked to be as good a team as the NY squad.

the Guardian offense isn't as good and the Guardian rotation isn't as good

they had to hope that their bullpen would give them a decisive advantage, but in these two games

it was far from decisive and not all that advantageous.

and I'll venture to write Second-best team is hosting the AL's Best

and anything other than winning all three in Cleveland means that the Guardians are sunk
