The Yankees lost 7-6. The Dodgers won the World Series. This Yankees team may change, but, we're not going anywhere.

"A young man from Compton rises to the highest levels of baseball greatness.
Considered one of the classiest baseball players ever, this is Roy White's story, but it's also the story of a unique period in baseball history when the Yankees fell from grace and regained glory and the country dealt with societal changes in many ways."

Ever since I can remember I've wanted to do a Game Thread for a Yankees' World Championship!!!! Hmmmmm, maybe I have a memory issue!! But still, I want to do that!!
i already laid out that Cole must cover 1b, no matter what
but there is also plenty of blame for Rizzo
as I have said here more than a couple times, I played 1b my entire career. literally from 8 years old until I quit playing softball at 45
I am sorry, i have never know of ANY reason or benefit for sitting back at the edge of the dirt and waiting for a slow grounder to come to you
anyone? am i correct?
you charge the ball!! you make the play!! you dont sit back and risk the ball playing you!!
this is not the only time Rizzo has done this, not even in this game
Cole needs to…
have not looked at any of the game thread
a pitcher MUST cover 1b on a ball hit to the 1b side. END OF STORY
but man oh man oh man!!! WOW do i feel crappy for Cole
Paul, I believe he embodied EVERY LETTER of what you wrote about being a champion and stepping up when the season is on the line!!
tonight was a career defining win for Cole, a game that gets talked about by everyone when you are on your way into the HOF
he went 6.2 innings and would have quite certainly have gone 8, maybe more if he did not have to throw 40 pitches in one inning
he gave up ZERO earned runs
The Dodgers did well tonight, but we lost the game.
it was coming, it was due
they had to lose
but they did not have to lose tonight
they should not have
and the final loss was more stinging that it should have been
even though they were beaten by a better team.
congrats to Dave Roberts and LA
