Quick Hit: Swept in St. Louis

The Yankees are now 6-11 since the All-Star Break. Their ace (Cole) has a worse ERA than the pitcher they traded. This team got swept.

The way Jordan Montgomery was traded, a Yankee for many years, traded out of the blue - do you think that impacts a team? Look what they did to Jordan. Why? Maybe that helps take the life out of a team.

Cashman's new guys: 4.1 IP, 9 ER, 8 H, 3 BB, 2 K, 2 HR.

Cashman's old guy: 5 IP, 0 R, 2H, 1 BB, 1 K, 0 HR.

We play today; we lose today. Friday, offense gets 10 H, 5 BB, wastes 9 LOB; All-Star closer blows save and game with 2-run bottom of eighth. Saturday, pitching gives up 1 R, but offense gets 2 hits and is shut out. Sunday, offense scores 9 R; starter and pen each give up 6. It's starting to read like title cards from The Shining. "Heeeeeeere's Jordan!"

That was a seriously frustrating game on a while host of levels. I'm glad the home plate ump was ok after getting struck in the mask, but he was hot garbage today, and it impacted the Yankees at the plate in multiple scenarios with runners in scoring position.

Add to it the fact that the ump crew forced Abreu to pitch through the rain, causing a great outing to become a poor outing, this ump crew should be ashamed of the job they did. MLB should be more so. It's enough to make me pine for the electronic strike zone (which I hate).

"A young man from Compton rises to the highest levels of baseball greatness.
