Quick Hit: Still Need One Win

The Yankees showed the worst of the 2024 season tonight: bad baserunning, too many relievers, and too few hits in a 5-3 loss to Baltimore.

Imagine Gleyber does a blunder on stupidity baserunning on the base paths in the playoffs.

The silver lining is that the Orioles burned a lot of their relievers tonight, so many of them won't be available tomorrow. The Yankees still have Luke Weaver, their best, available tomorrow if they need him, and Marcus Stroman, who can eat up a lot of innings if need be.

I definitely would like to see the Yankee hitters force the Orioles pitchers to throw more pitches each at-bat, so they can wear out and burn up the Orioles pitchers even faster.

bad base running - unquestionably

but this was far from the 'worst' of the 2024 season.

let's not allow disappointment to overwhelm us.

the Yankees disn't really need this game

the Orioles really, really did
