The Yankees played a decent game for eight innings. But that one inning was a doosey... The Royals sent fourteen batters to the plate in a nine-run first inning, chasing starter Carlos Rodon before he could retire a batter. These are the same Royals who have lost 105 games on the season. Rodon's initial Yankee season ends with a 3-8 record and 6.85 ERA. Austin Wells was a bright spot for the Yanks with another home run - his third in four games - and four RBI.

At this point, I have concluded that Rodon is a bum, and that double sucks because he is a lefty. Maybe he is fixable, or maybe like Sonny Gray, he lacks the intestinal fortitude to pitch in New York. Either way, the Yankees should not construct a rotation that is dependent on him. They need to go forward as if he sucks too much to be in the rotation.
If he fixes whatever has addled his performance, he could rejoin he rotation at that point. Rather than waste a 25 man roster spot on a pitcher whose performance to this point almost ensures a loss when he takes the mound, "ask" him to go down to AAA to work h…
it was more of a stomping than a whipping.
when Boone went out to collect Rodon, I coulda sworn he was carrying a blindfold and a cigarette
Rondon laid an 🥚.
Wells continues to cement his spot on the OD 2024 roster.
Bauers will be on someone's bench next year, i just hope it's not ours.
Vasquez gave a good accounting of himself. But I still think he'll be traded.
Peraza will be on the OD 2024 roster.
McCallister should call it a career.
I want to trade for Soto or Trout. Pereira will be included in that deal. But his 38.2% K rate is bad when there is no power.
Cabrera can sacrifice, but he cannot bunt for a basehit to save his life.
