Quick Hit: One More Day

The narrative seems to be quickly changing around the Yankees that they may (finally) decide to sell at the deadline.

Advice for the Steinbrenners:

Sell the team if you don't want to clean out the entire management staff (we fans wish!)

or

Keep the team as is, jettison all pending free agents, trade anyone you can get anything for, bring up all the minimum wage minor leaguers you can . . . oh, and cut prices on everything by 50% - tickets, food, souvenirs, etc. You can afford it with all the salaries you're saving. The fans expectations will drop to zero and you'll be cheered if the team plays anywhere near .500. Oh, and give Cole and Judge an opt-out clause so that they don't waste their potential Hall of Fame careers in the depths of the AL East.

Matt Blake showed again tonight that he is not a MLB PC with the same pitching gameplan again. No pitches up high on the stroke zone across the letters. It is common knowledge that those pitches are bring called strikes by the umpires. But to be fair to Brito, they don't call fir those pitches in SWB either.

Waiting until the last minute to buy is never good, but maybe waiting to sell might find somebody desperate.

"This charming and meticulously researched book will remind you of baseball’s power to change and enrich lives far beyond the diamond."

From Compton to the Bronx.jpg

"A young man from Compton rises to the highest levels of baseball greatness.

Considered one of the classiest baseball players ever, this is Roy White's story, but it's also the story of a unique period in baseball history when the Yankees fell from grace and regained glory and the country dealt with societal changes in many ways."
