Quick Hit: Nestor is Nicer than Nifty, Yankees Score Eight

October 1, 2022

***

You can't defeat the Yankees in October. (At least so far...)

The Yankees scored eight.

The Orioles scored none.

Nestor Cortes threw 7.1 innings. He allowed just one hit. And no runs. He also struck out 12.

Nestor Cortes should start Game One of the Division Series.

(Tomorrow at 10:00 a.m. I'll compare Cortes and Cole...)

Yankees win... THE YANKEES WIN!

doesn't matter if Nestor is better than Cole this season.

what matters is if the Yankee pitching is as good as Houston's.

to win a series requires a staff, not a single pitcher.

that said, Cortes has been sterling

Agree 100% about Cortes and Game 1. Don't succumb to the Sunk Cost Fallacy with Cole.

"A young man from Compton rises to the highest levels of baseball greatness.

Considered one of the classiest baseball players ever, this is Roy White's story, but it's also the story of a unique period in baseball history when the Yankees fell from grace and regained glory and the country dealt with societal changes in many ways."
