The Yankees lost 8-5. Gleyber got benched for a lack of hustle. This will be interesting to follow into tomorrow.

"A young man from Compton rises to the highest levels of baseball greatness.
Considered one of the classiest baseball players ever, this is Roy White's story, but it's also the story of a unique period in baseball history when the Yankees fell from grace and regained glory and the country dealt with societal changes in many ways."

he just doesn't, dadgummit
completely failed to walk AGAIN
I don't think this is complicated..... he didn't hustle and he was benched..... most on this site are down on Torres, me included but my crystal ball sez..... Why did they sign Jazz Chisholm? Certainly not to be the CF next year .... The Yankees will not resign him over the winter and as Fantasyfb3313 posted they have multiple options beyond Chisholm.
I've written this before over the years: Gleyber Torres is not a "winning" ballplayer. He is exactly the type of player you do not want on your team if you are thinking championship. He lacks drive and desire, is sub-par defensively, is a poor baserunner, and does not make up for these deficiencies with his bat. I fully expect the Yankees to resign him over the winter as the market for his services will be slim and none. Typical Yankees move. Wash, rinse, and repeat. I hope I'm wrong and he's gone after this season. We need players who give a crap about winning and being a professional.
the Yankees lost this game and it was not because of Gleyber Torres
Torres' immaturity and punishment ugly, unfortunate and prominent as it was
should not serve as a serious distraction from a serious problem.
this game was lost because the starting pitcher failed......... miserably.
when the Yankees score 2 runs in the bottom of the first inning and have still been outscored
things are not going well.
allow the opposition 8 runs and you're not likely to prevail
File this game under "You Can't Win Then All." Stroman pitched like a gutless hump, and the rest of the team, try as they might, couldn't overcome it. If Stroman is on the post-season roster at all, it better be for road starts (and exactly the converse for Cortes).
