Quick Hit: Game WON!

It was a tight back-and-forth affair tonight, but the Yankees came out on top of the Royals with a 6-5 victory!

the better team won tonight

nothing from Judge or Cole

but 4 other Yankee hitters got on base 3 times each

and the Yankee relievers outperformed those in Royal blue

agreed. i do believe the better team won

i hope the rest of the games will be the two teams trading excellent plays and it comes down to who makes the last excellent play

tonight was a little more trading mistakes and which team would make less mistakes, but it still counts as a win

and even in an ugly game we did have some people step up and make big plays!!!

My immediate reaction/take in Game 1:

Cabrera continues to amaze me at how well he plays defensively no matter where he plays;

The moment was not to big for Wells, getting both a RBI walk, & a RBI hit after Judge failed;

On the flip side, Volpe has a game that was pure bad.

Maybe the Yankees did finally get around to fixing Holmes during the last 10 days or so of the season. What the heck did it take them so long? He has been more bad than good since that last game in K.C, I believe about on June 14.

I've said ever since last season, he is a guy who is a real utility player. Not a Zobrist type, who starts 6 days a week at 6 different positions, but a guy who should play 3-4 games a week, and be a fill in when needed, like he did at 3B the first 2 months of the season.
