Quick Hit: Deja Boo...

The 9th inning tonight was a lot like yesterday. Torres didn't come through. Soto stood waiting. Yankees lose the series to the Nationals.

8 LOB, 2 GIDP, 1-for-13 RISP. SSDD. Now 29-35, .453, since June 12. 10-10 since first game on August 7. It's 2022 redux with a mediocre team limping toward post-season failure and embarrassment.

Since June 12: Balt. 32-35, .478. Cleve. 33-35, .485. K.C. 36-29, .554. Minn. 36-29, .544. Hou. 40-24, .625.

Every single current play-off team in the AL has been better than the Yankees over the last 11 weeks. 1.5 games worse than Baltimore. ELEVEN games worse than Houston.

Put another way, the post-June 12 Yankees are fungible with the full-year Texas Rangers.

for what was Soto waiting?

I don't remember Soto getting a hit or an RBI in any of the three games in DC

Torres has made the final outs in the last two games, but he's gotten a few hits in the series

The last number of years, the hitting coaches have been changed multiple times, at what point do the pitching coaches face the heat for their inability to really make these pitchers better. The foul balls, no put away pitch, just to name 2 issues that go back a few years, and across the staff..

"A young man from Compton rises to the highest levels of baseball greatness.
