Quick Hit: Bronx Bombers!

When the Yankees show up, they look good doing it. The bats today brought home 9 runs on 5 homers to win 9-1!

Opening day? Now that was a different body of water, maybe kettle of fish.

As for August, I predict it'll look a lot like August 2022 and 2023, certainly much more than August 1978.

Great game.....and now a comment on my favorite youngster, Ben Rice. Since the 3 homer game he has played in 11 games. He is 4-44 and I think 2 of those hits were homers. Of the 44 outs, 21 were strikeouts, putting him just under to 50% mark. I DONT WANT HIM SENT DOWN. Plus I have no knowledge of whats in his head. BUT he hit 3 dingers in a game and get a curtain call. Can a Dartmouth, Ivy league guy actually think he is now a MLB superstar. Someone needs to pull him aside and remind him, he needs to hit the ball. He doesnt need to carry a team on his shoulders. He was 0-5 today…

I did not, BUT Paul O'Neill and I have pretty much the same philosophy when it comes to hitting.

Hoping this is the start of a "Soto homering streak" that carries over into the next games over the next few weeks at least.

Wells's 3 hits is a great takeaway from this game. Now that he is able to play every day, he is finally able to develop into the hitter I know he will be. Offense at the catcher position is a huge commodity, especially since Wells has proven to be a very good catcher in regard to calling games and framing pitches. If he can lengthen the Yankee lineup by providing much needed offense, in addition to what Soto and Judge provide, what a plus that will be!

I became a fan of Wells when rehabbing pitchers…

I definitely want Paredes on the Yankees, #1 to keep him away from the Astros (who seriously want him) and #2 because what an upgrade he would be for the Yankees! Much better offense at 3B!
