Quick Hit: A.L. EAST CHAMPS

September 27, 2022

***

For a while, a long while, it seemed that this team just might blow it...

But they did not.

The 2022 Yankees have gone 16-7 to turn it all around.

Tonight they defeated the Toronto Blue Jays to capture the A.L. East Crown and a first round bye in the playoffs.

Step 1 - Reach the post season - ACCOMPLISHED

Step 2 - Win the AL East - ACCOMPLISHED

Step 3 - Win the Division Series

Step 4 - Win the AL Championship Series

Step 5 - Win the World Series

The hope is that much more winning is to come!

Have best record in the League to ensure home-field advantage - FAILED. 39-38 since July 1.

Let's hope that, now that they're in the dance, it won't be a "two-step."

Normally, I'd agree with you. Home teams win 53.0 percent of the time, so .060 advantage. But Yankees at home vs. Astros? .088 advantage. Astros at home vs. Yankees, .176 advantage. And while there may not be a huge advantage to the Yankees playing at home because the Astros are such a good road team, there is a huge disadvantage to the Yankees playing on the road. That's the problem this year.

Ture, but not necessarily a great antiperspirant.

"A young man from Compton rises to the highest levels of baseball greatness.

Considered one of the classiest baseball players ever, this is Roy White's story, but it's also the story of a unique period in baseball history when the Yankees fell from grace and regained glory and the country dealt with societal changes in many ways."
