Total breakdown this year. Age, bad and or wrong player acquisitions, wrong players let go, managing/babying players, coaching, even the soda guy needs to be let go. Otherwise, it's déjà vu all over again next year, and probably worse. Red Sox and blue jays will probably be better next year, both have real plans, not fake narrative to trust some failed process. It has reached the stump merril level, or worse. Stump didn't have 2nd highest payroll, and was a seasoned and experienced baseball man. Boone is a broadcaster being told what to do by a bunch of A.I. supporters.
To further my comment about Matt Blake, does one have the stats about his many visits he has to a Starter as opposed to the mound visits when the relievers are in? Or what about him vs. the rest of the PCs with mound visits to the SP?
Prediction: Yanks play .400 ball the rest of the way and end up the only team in AL East below .500. Reached for comments:

There is something to be said. Matt Blake might be great at the analytics stuff, but he showed again, he does not belong in uniform, in the dugout during the game. Kremer was in trouble a couple of times, and the PC game out of the dugout to talk to him or just allow him to take a breath & recoup. Severino only ever saw Boone come out with the hook. Seriously, I would make a better in-game PC. If anyone wants me to elaborate, tell me, I'll give more examples of why Blake should be gone.
