Quick Hit: 0 for 14...

The Yankees number 3 through 6 hitters went 0-14 today, in a 4-2 loss to the Orioles. Not good.

Wells looks like his luck is changing for the better.

Cabrera needs a day off, but who on the roster can really give it to him? Then the question is, are the guys that make out the lineup willing to give him that day off he desperately needs?

Torres is not exactly having a good walk year.

We just saw the bad defensive outfielder that everyone has been talking about with Soto.

Cortes continues his up and down year.

Who knew that having Alex Verdugo out of the lineup would cause this big of a problem?

Is it time yet to move Volpe out of the leadoff spot? My vote is to flip Volpe & Judge.

I never thought of Volpe as a leadoff hitter

given that you're far from thoughtless, it's an odd omission

why, in the name of cheeses, would you fail to give due consideration to the team's best running threat, given that he gets hits and draws bases on balls?

the guy's OBP is above .340

these things should serve to advance his candidacy to lead off.

but, if you have other ideas, do tell us ....

who on the roster might be better ?

This is a reason why I never buy into the "momentum" argument.

The Yankees had momentum heading into the series.

The Orioles didn't.

If momentum meant anything, how did the Yankees lose two games in a row to a team that didn't have any?

There are two types of momentum, the Yankees are providing evidence that momentum as you say is either good or bad but in the end good pitching and poor hitting eliminates that elusive thing called "momentum"!
