Get To Know Jasson Dominguez!

September 10, 2024

***

We used to run a feature called "The Saturday Links" where we linked stories about the Yankees found across the Internet. We stopped that years ago because too many sites went behind paywalls.

Today we bring that feature back, in part, to link to this story, from The Players' Tribune.

One quote from the article,

"I don’t want to be the future, or the past. I want to be the right now."

I LOVE IT!

Enjoy!

Will Verdugo soon be rubbing dirt on his uniform after the games to make it look like he played?

I think Verdugo will still see plenty of action for the rest of the REGULAR SEASON as they give Soto, Judge, and Dominguez "DH Days" or an occasional complete day off in order to "keep them fresh" for the post season.

Cabby (Oswaldo Cabrera) became a better hitter this year simply by observing Juan Soto, and what Soto does during each at-bat, and his observations of Soto has made him a better hitter, with the very limited hitting skills that Cabby has. Juan Soto has taken his fellow Dominican, Jasson Dominguez, under his wing, and the Martian is observing and learning from Soto the same way that Cabby has been doing. Only the Martian has a far better skill set when it comes to hitting than Cabby has. People have already noticed an amazing similarity in Dominguez's swing and stance to Soto's. By observing Soto, picking Soto's brain, and heeding Soto's sage advice, Dominguez is really going to reach his …

Dominguez's ghostwriter is excellent (but I have no doubt all the emotions expressed are legitimately Dominguez's).

Excellent writing by Jasson Dominguez. We should see if we can get him to become a regular writer for "Start Spreading The News".

"Scattering The Ashes has all the feels. Paul Russell Semendinger's debut novel taps into every emotion. You'll laugh. You'll cry. You'll reexamine those relationships that give your life meaning." — Don Burke, writer at The New York Post

"This charming and meticulously researched book will remind you of baseball’s power to change and enrich lives far beyond the diamond."

—Jonathan Eig, New York Times best-selling author of Luckiest Man, Opening Day, and Ali: A Life

From Compton to the Bronx.jpg

"A young man from Compton rises to the highest levels of baseball greatness.

Considered one of the classiest baseball players ever, this is Roy White's story, but it's also the story of a unique period in baseball history when the Yankees fell from grace and regained glory and the country dealt with societal changes in many ways."
