From the NY Post:

Oh boy, here we go....

Did the Yankees trade for an injured pitcher? What did the medicals say at the time?

Do you believe this will just be one month or will this be another injury that goes longer than initially stated/guessed/hoped?

Some reactions on Twitter are below. What are yours?

because baseball teams really, really, really rely on their fifth starter at the beginning of the season

Never a good thing when its a shoulder injury for a pitcher. Personally, i think they got hosed in this trade.

There are two versions of "can't pitch in New York." The first group actually pitches, but just sucks, like Sonny Gray. The other group literally can't pitch, like Carl Pavano. I though Montas was in Group 1, but I'm starting to think he's actually in Group 2.

Cashman's mistake (what again?) was trading for damaged goods. Firing offense as far as I'm concerned. He had arm trouble. Only the Yankees were on line to trade for this guy. Chronic shoulder problems often result in surgery. I assure you.

no hurry

no real reason to rush Montas' return

they have a great rotation and good depth.

let Montas heal

July '22, the shoulder. September '22, the shoulder, now the shoulder again to miss the start of the season. That's chronic. That's what my medical training tells me.
