This may not be a popular opinion, but I thought the Monty-Bader deal was a good, old school, baseball trade. Two winning organizations address needs from their depth, trading good players to get good players, both teams benefiting from the deal (as it stands now).

Its not Judge's salary that's the big bulky thing getting in the way. Its the $37.5 million that's thrown away on dead weight: Donaldson, Hicks, IKF.

But, my point is that Judge's salary is the biggest part of the Yankees' payroll.
