Ok, here we go…
Boy do I love baseball, but not baseball itself really, just the Yankees. The Yankees have to keep winning because I’m not ready for the season to be over this week. A couple of big wins over the Red Sox would also be great.
If Luis Severino has a dominant game tonight, the Yankees should be in great shape. He has been getting stronger and better, it seems, each time out.
It is apparent that the Achilles Heel for the Red Sox is their pitching – especially their bullpen. The Yankees have a huge advantage there.
Don Larsen’s Perfect Game was pitched on this day in 1956. Hopefully that’s a good sign for the Yankees.
It would be great if Gleyber Torres and Miguel Andujar started hitting like they can. They have each delivered hits, but their explosive bats have not shown up yet. They will, and when they do…! Those big bats at the bottom of the order add a huge element to the Yankees’ attack.
Similarly, it would be great to see Giancarlo Stanton come alive. Remembering back, Reggie Jackson went 2 for 26 in his first post season series as a Yankee. Yes, with no homers. After that he came alive and blasted five home runs against the Dodgers in the 1977 World Series. I’d love to see Giancarlo have some “Reggie Moments” in the Bronx this week. That being said, to me at least, it just does not seem like he is reading the ball well out of the pitcher’s hand.
It was great to see Gary Sanchez’s bat come alive. I sure hope this continues. The Yankees need the pre-2018 Gary Sanchez now and in the future.
Is it game time yet?
Let’s Go Yankees!
