A Start Spreading the News Primer (updated 5/18/20)

Thanks for visiting our site.

Since we have so many new readers, I figured that I should share this primer with our readers. The following is what you can regularly expect from our site throughout the winter months.

DAILY FEATURES:

Our Daily Morning Feature article is always posted by 6:00 a.m. (We sometimes post this a little earlier, but you can count on a new article being posted each and every day of the week for that 6:00 a.m. time slot.)

Yankees Baseball Card Trivia at Noon runs each and every weekday at noon. These are usually based on weekly themes to add to the fun. Test your Yankees knowledge by participating each day.

The Tweet of the Day comes each weekday at 3:00 p.m.

The Late Afternoon Article always posts at 4:00 p.m. each weekday.

Game Thread – During the season we post a game thread for all our readers to participate in during each game.

Quick Hit – During the season we post the Yankees Game Score right after the game is played.

Top of the Page Videos – Game highlights, press conferences, and analysis videos focusing mostly on the Yankees, and sometimes on baseball in general, grace the top of each page (and the corner box as you scroll down) so the latest news and action are never far from each reader. This feature comes through our partnership with the great SendToNews.

REGULARLY SCHEDULED FEATURES:

Simulcast Sunday – Each Sunday at 10:00 a.m. we “simulcast” an article from our friends at Pinstripe City.

The Sunday Night Special comes each Sunday night at 7:00. This feature showcases an interesting baseball video that highlights all different aspects of the game. These might be documentaries, full-length movies, ball songs, movie clips, statistic analysis, or, really anything. Stop by to see something new each week.

The Tuesday Discussion comes each Tuesday morning at 10:00 a.m. See how our contributing writers respond to weekly questions about the Yankees.

Wednesday Night Classics arrive each Wednesday night at 7:00 p.m. These posts showcase Yankees games (most often complete games, but not always) from the past. Re-live some great Yankees memories or see some famous former games. With Start Spreading the News, the next Yankees game is, at the most only a few days away if you watch our Wednesday Night Classics each week.

The Weekly Mailbag highlights our Friday mornings. The mailbag comes each Friday at 10:00 a.m. Andy Singer takes questions from our readers and answers them with his deep understanding of the game, statistics, and the Yankees in particular.

Fright Night Fights highlights footage from a Yankees brawl.

Our Saturday Links arrive on Saturday Mornings at 10:00 a.m. This feature links to articles that have been published in newspapers and other sites as we try to cover the Yankees in as much depth as we possibly can.

IN ADDITION:

In addition to the above, we work diligently to provide articles and updates throughout the day.

Please know that we never rest in our efforts to bring our readers the most unique, most engaging, and most reliable Yankees content, both during the season and throughout the off-season.

Thanks for visiting!

Start Spreading the News is the place for some of the very best analysis and insight focusing primarily on the New York Yankees.

(Please note that we are not affiliated with the Yankees and that the news, perspectives, and ideas are entirely our own.)

Scattering the Ashes.jpeg

"Scattering The Ashes has all the feels. Paul Russell Semendinger's debut novel taps into every emotion. You'll laugh. You'll cry. You'll reexamine those relationships that give your life meaning." — Don Burke, writer at The New York Post

The Least Among Them.png

"This charming and meticulously researched book will remind you of baseball’s power to change and enrich lives far beyond the diamond."

—Jonathan Eig, New York Times best-selling author of Luckiest Man, Opening Day, and Ali: A Life

From Compton to the Bronx.jpg

"A young man from Compton rises to the highest levels of baseball greatness.

Considered one of the classiest baseball players ever, this is Roy White's story, but it's also the story of a unique period in baseball history when the Yankees fell from grace and regained glory and the country dealt with societal changes in many ways."
