The above list of trades will continue to be updated throughout the morning, until 2:00 PM (EST) when the "Afternoon Trade Deadline" megathread will get posted.

This Morning's Trades:

@kileymcd." (Tweet)

1:37 PM - Robert Murray (FanSided): "Trade: The Boston Red Sox are acquiring reliever Lucas Sims from the Cincinnati Reds, according to sources familiar with the deal." (Tweet)

1:48 PM - Ken Rosenthal (The Athletic): "Orioles acquiring LHP Trevor Rogers from the Marlins, source tells @TheAthletic" (Tweet)

LATE NIGHT/MORNING RUMORS:

(Most recent updates are highlighted in Yellow.)

10:22 PM - Patrick Mooney (The Athletic): "Cubs pitcher Jameson Taillon, who has a 10-team no-trade list, indicated that Chicago’s front office has not approached him about any potential deals to this point: “I haven’t had to say yes or no to anything.” (Tweet)

11:42 PM - Marc Topkin (Tampa Bay Times): "Brett Phillips clocked 94-97 mph and struck out side tonight at NBC World Series. Also had sharp slider. Trying to transition to reliever and get back to majors." (Tweet)

8:04 AM - Bob Nightengale (USA Today): "The Chicago White Sox believe that starter Garrett Crochet likely will be moved today, and that center fielder Luis Robert Jr. (who has drawn little interest) will be staying." (Tweet)

8:12 AM - Bob Nightengale (USA Today): "The San Francisco Giants...plan to keep starter Blake Snell and give their team a legitimate shot at the playoffs. They are 4 games back in the wild-card race (53-55)..." (Tweet)

9:55 AM - Jon Morosi (MLB Network): "The Blue Jays, who exceeded expectations with the Yusei Kikuchi trade, are listening on multiple players on deadline day. RHP Chad Green, RHP Trevor Richards...INF Isiah Kiner-Falefa..." (Tweet)

10:38 AM - Jon Heyman (NY Post): "Hear Trevor Rogers market is heating up. Continues to be a real sellers maker, as anticipated" (Tweet)

11:55 AM - Marc Feinsand (MLB): "All-Star Kyle Finnegan is considered to be among the best relievers available, even after giving up five runs on Monday. Finnegan is under control through 2025, and one exec said the Nationals are currently “asking the moon” for the right-hander." (Tweet)

12:57 PM - Robert Murray (FanSided): "Source: The Pirates are acquiring pitcher Josh Walker from the Mets. Walker had recently been designated for assignment." (Tweet)

---

Yankees Rumors:

10:04 PM - Chris Kirschner (The Athletic): "Aaron Judge on the trade deadline: “Other teams are making moves, so hopefully we start making moves, too.” (Tweet)

9:31 AM - Yankees PR: "On Monday, the Yankees released INF Jeter Downs. Downs has signed with the Fukuoka SoftBank Hawks in Japan." (Tweet)

10:27 AM - Jon Heyman (NY Post): "Yankees were told several days ago they “don’t match up” for Crochet. Others still trying." (Tweet)

11:53 AM - Jon Heyman (NY Post): "Yanks interested in Yandy, Rengifo, Scott, Fairbanks, Finnegan, Erceg, many others, but it’s an extreme sellers market at moment. Pen and Infield/versatility seem to be the focus. Can’t rule out starters but prices very high." (Tweet)

1:21 PM - Mike Petriello (MLB): "Reallllly like Mark Leiter Jr. He's a guy you can definitely ignore the ERA (4.21) on, b/c the underlying stuff (2.61 xERA, among others) like him better. 194 splitters thrown: 3 singles allowed, 39 K." (Tweet)

1:27 PM - Francys Romero (BBWAA): "The New York Yankees signed Brett Phillips, formerly of the Rays, as a pitcher, according to sources close to the player. Phillips, 30, will be assigned to the minor leagues. He appeared in a semi-pro league yesterday throwing 95-97 mph." (Tweet)

Morning Discussion:

On Isaac Paredes:

After I saw that the Tampa Bay Rays were willing to really sell off pieces, and that the Yankees made a move for Jazz Chisholm Jr., I immediately hopped on the bandwagon for them to go get Isaac Paredes. It would've been the perfect move for now- and the future- to shore up third base (which has been bad, or in flux, for many many years now). Unfortunately, the Rays made a deal with the Chicago Cubs (which I think was a weak return for the Rays). So, now the third base market is extremely shallow with targets like Luis Rengifo Gio Urshela, or Yandy Diaz.

On The Morning:

Wow. Nothing is happening this morning. I guess this makes some sense, as the West Coast is just waking up now, but I am getting impatient for some action! There's only so much MLB Network I can watch with them repeating the same speculation that I am reading online.

On Mark Leiter Jr.:

If you look at Leiter Jr.'s baseball savant page, it is incredibly endearing. Lots and lots of red, and lots and lots of top percentile stuff. The problem however, is that advanced metrics only tell some of the story. Leiter Jr. is a risk for the bullpen, as he is a career 4.53 ERA guy over 200+ innings in the bullpen across parts of 5 MLB seasons. If this is the only bullpen move, it's bad. If it's one of many, for Matt Blake to work his magic, this is a great move. Time will tell. Also: Mark's father (Mark Leiter) and his uncle (Al Leiter) both pitched for the Yankees. Maybe this could mean a future where Jack Leiter comes to the Bronx!

On Brett Phillips:

Speaking of relievers, the Yankees are also signing Brett Phillips (the former infielder) to a minor league deal as a reliever. Footage came out yesterday of him at a game (see video here) and he did look very good. If nothing else, this is a fun story to follow for the rest of the season to see if he can make the transition to being a bullpen arm in the MLB. Phillips always seemed like a top clubhouse guy, and I will never- ever- say no to signing guys with potential to minor league deals.

did I somehow overlook it? or is your trade chart missing the Padres trade for Adam?

the Rays got Padres # 3, 8, and 12 prospects for Adam

I think Miami will expect AT LEAST that much for Scott, even as a rental

I would definitely trade Hampton. dont think i am trading Lalane and Rice for rental reliever (that would be our # 3, 8, 12)

i am SUPER curious

HOW do the Yankees work at the deadline?

if it was me, I would have a bunch of people making calls

somebody is making calls working on trading Gleyber

somebody is making calls to trade Nestor

somebody working on adding Erceg

etc...

obviously at some point Naehring or Cashman has to get involved. they must do something similar or BETTER

i really really HOPE someone is working hard to trade Gleyber. again LOOK at the prices!! they should be able to get more for Gleyber today than they could have EVER dreamed possible

well at some point you are ONLY talking. discussions are tentative

you say IF we would add this, this, and this would you be willing

if they say YES, then you have to see what else is being discussed

IF you have 2 teams who have tentatively agreed to a trade with Spencer Jones, obviously you choose which one you like better and you tell the other team that you cannot include the player and ask if they would accept a different package

Look at the bright side. At least the Orioles didn't get Tarik Skubal. At least not YET. According to the rumors, the Orioles supposedly said they would actually be willing to take on Javier Baez and his very bad contract in order to get Skubal.

I am glad to see that the Orioles are starting to weaken their deep farm system a bit with these moves they're making.
