2022 Yankees Statistical Updates: Halfway!

The Yankees have played 80 games, or one less than half a season. Statistically they were down quite a bit on offense for this 20 game run.

However, they were still able to go 14-6 and continue to keep pace with the top 6-8 teams of all time.

They were led by Stanton, Torres, and LeMahieu on offense and specifically Cole on the pitching side.

This is the first stretch of games that Judge wasn’t SuperMan, but as good as he has been, a slump was bound to happen.

For those that are wondering, using the V-Rating, there’s basically no difference in offensive production from Donaldson, Andujar, Hicks, Gallo, and IKF. And then a steep decline to Higashioka who better be a gold glove winner to stay in the Majors.

What others stats stick out to you?

A lot of people are down in IKF, but he's among the team leaders in runs, hits, doubles, and batting average. He also leads the team in steals.

He certainly has not impressed me. His wRC+ is only 77 and his WAR is 0.5 -- same as Hicks and less than Mar-Gon's 0.6

From Compton to the Bronx.jpg

"A young man from Compton rises to the highest levels of baseball greatness.

Considered one of the classiest baseball players ever, this is Roy White's story, but it's also the story of a unique period in baseball history when the Yankees fell from grace and regained glory and the country dealt with societal changes in many ways."
