"A young man from Compton rises to the highest levels of baseball greatness.
Considered one of the classiest baseball players ever, this is Roy White's story, but it's also the story of a unique period in baseball history when the Yankees fell from grace and regained glory and the country dealt with societal changes in many ways."
We are excited to announce our new sponsorship with FOCO for all officially licensed goods!
I remember the quote rooting for the Yankees was like rooting for U.S Steel back in the dynasty days.
This was pretty useless, but it does show the Yankee legacy of greatness. Not too many of us may remember how it started 100 years ago.
I wish I was around in those days!!
I think my favorite bit was the Old Timers' Day segment, particularly the visiting players in their respective uniforms.
Great. Absolutely great. I could make some snarky comments about the lack of analytics in the scouting and development process and the praising of the medical staff. But I'd rather share with you that I was fortunate enough to be in the right field bleachers for Game 3. I can still see Slaughter's home run rocketing into the right field stands. I was in school for Games 5, 6, and 7. I missed the ending of Larsen's perfect game but was in home in time to see the Jackie Robinson game winning hit in Game 6 and Bill Skowron's grand slam home run to seal the deal in Game 7. Indeed, those were the days. Where are my tissues?
