Ray Caldwell was an interesting fella. Per his SABR biography, the Senators offered to deal Walter Johnson for him. Walter Johnson in pinstripes!
I think the Yankees are always seen as Murderers' (Row) with the bat, (Bronx) Bombers and so while many, many hitters are enshrined, deserving or not, it is probably at the expense of some excellent pitchers. Heck, the first six guys are HoFers and #7 will be eventually.
