The Farm Report: 4/14/14

[I'm pinch hitting for Tamar today and since she's our Minors guru I am not even going to attempt to replicate her Farm Report so here is a condensed version. - SG] The Yankees win theeeeee Yankees win! Oh, and the Riverdogs and Thunder also won.

Let's start off with the news that Triple A Scranton was rained out last night. They have a doubleheader scheduled for today but it doesn't look too promising because it is pretty rainy here on the east coast. According to Mike Axisa of River Avenue Blues, Scranton has already had six rainouts this season. SIX. It's only April 15. I guess what they say about April Showers is true: They are aplenty.

Double A Trenton beat Akron 2-0 The big news from Trenton's game was right hander Bryan Mitchell's line: 6 IP, 4 H, 2 R, 0 ER, 2 BB, 12 K. Tyler Austin and Mason Williams each had a hit and Taylor Dugas went 1-4 with a double.

High A Tampa defeated Clearwater 6-5 The Tampa Yankees walked it off last night in the bottom of the ninth inning thanks to a Cody Grice single to right field that scored Dante Bichette. Eric Jagielo, Bichette, Grice and Angelo Gumbs each had two hits. Bichette also had two walks. He's walking a lot so far this season, more than he's striking out (12 to 7).

Low A Charleston spanked Greenville 11-3 Michael O'Neill hit a home run - his second of the season, Rookie Davis pitched 5.2 innings, gave up two earned runs on three hits, struck out three and hit one batter and Abi Avelino, Luis Torrens, Miguel Andujar, O'Neill, and Gosuke Katoh all had two hits.
