Mariano Rivera Wins Comeback Player of the Year

Mariano Rivera has officially won the 2013 MLB AL Comeback Player of the Year Award. After suffering from a torn ACL in 2012, Rivera returned to the field in 2013 and put up a 2.11 ERA in 64.0 innings while recording 44 saves. Rivera's season, and career, was nothing short of incredible. Though a knee injury isn't the most deadly circumstance for a pitcher to overcome, the fact that Rivera was able to return so flawlessly at 43 years old, and finish off his career in style, was a marvel to watch. This is the first time a Yankee has won the award since 2005, when Jason Giambi took home the AL Comeback Player of the Year award in its first year.
