Rangers 3, Yankees 1: The Yankees didn't listen to me

I asked them to win again but did the Yankees listen to me? Of course not. Instead, they couldn't hit and because of this, Andy Pettitte gets saddled with the loss when he only gave up two earned runs. Pettitte pitched six innings and gave up those two runs on eight hits. He also struck out two and walked one.

Shawn Kelley didn't strike anyone out and he gave up a home run in two innings of work.

The Yankees were lucky to score their lone run and only did because Ron Washington was silly and didn't walk Robinson Cano who hit an RBI single to tie the game at one in the top of the sixth.

Unfortunately for the Yankees and Pettitte, A.J. Pierzynski put the Rangers ahead 2-1 in the bottom of the sixth on a solo shot to right. David Murphy hit a tack on home run in the eighth off of Kelley.

Matt Garza, Texas' newest acquisition, won his first game as a Ranger by pitching 7.1 innings, giving up one run (unearned) on five hits and striking out five.

Now, don't forget tomorrow's game is a day game and it starts at 2:05 p.m.
